Micron21 Kilsyth datacentre is situated 30KM outside from Melbourne CBD perfectly suited as a primary facility however our location also falls within many compliance regulations for disaster recovery for global companies and government departments who require mission critical datacentre services. Built around uptime institutes tier 4 specifications with plans to be audited by uptime institute upon completion of our expansion Micron21 provides a high level of fully redundant datacentre services.
Physical Security
Our physical security includes three meter anti scale perimeter fencing surrounding a concrete tilt slab building, along with a 16,000 volt electrical fence providing additional intruder protection, CCTV with motion detection, mechanical protection on all onsite external cables and pipes, Access Control, Biometrics along with staff available 24/7 providing on demand escort access to your infrastructure when required. The facility is built to AS ISO 15420 monitored internally and externally and includes two hour fire rated walls and doors protecting all internal infrastructure within the building along with VESDA fire detection and IG55 fire suppression. The combination of our physical security elements creates a secure platform to protect your mission critical business assets which you can relay and trust upon.
Power redundancy
Micron21 power infrastructure is built to a minimum specification of 2N across all power infrastructure within the datacentre, distributed across two fully redundant and fireproof switch rooms physical separated from each other where each room is fully redundant delivering Emerson 80net 4N UPS capacity to the datacentre floor space supported by 2N+1 Cummins diesel generator configuration, 48 hours of onsite fuel storage combined with refueling contracts with 4 hour SLA delivery in place and mains HV power provided directly from an onsite substation. Our highly redundant power infrastructure configuration provides Micron21 complete control and confidence in delivering a 100% SLA for protected power to our customer’s equipment.
Cooling redundancy
Micron21 datacentre cooling infrastructure is built to a minimum specification of 2N across all cooling infrastructure. Our primary cooling technology for the datacentre is based upon a fully redundant 2N Emerson chilled water plant which delivers dedicated and independent cooling capacity to every rack using the Emerson XD cooling system. In the event the entire chilled water plant fails which comprises of two N+1 chillers and four N+1 pumping stations we have nine independent Emerson DX cooling units with enough capacity to cool the entire datacentre providing redundancy within and across two different cooling technology platforms enabling Micron21 to deliver customers 100% SLA on maintaining cooling and humidity to Ashrae standards at all times within the datacentre.
Global DDoS Protected IP Transit Network
Micron21 owns and operates the 5th largest peered network in Australia fully DDoS protected and is the only network in Australia which provides Australian based DDoS filtering as a service. Our Network is designed and maintained for our customers hosting requirements, scalable on demand to support large advertised events and powering the most popular websites within Australia. We only provide high performance and extremely low latency bandwidth which spans the world, providing quality which cheaper data providers cannot supply. To provide multiple redundancies within our network we have partnered with over 170 networks around the world distributed across six POP locations throughout the world. Every fibre carrier within our datacentre enters from diverse locations which further protect our customers from complete service failures caused by an unlikely physical network cut. The result is our customers receive a world class, fast and highly reliable network connection managed and monitored by our Network Operation Centre 24 hours a day.
Onsite 24/7 Networking and System Engineering staff
Our Micron21 highly skilled onsite engineering staff with skills and certifications which include A10, All Linux Distributions, Brocade, Cisco, cPanel, Dell, Force10, Juniper, NSFOCUS, Plesk, Red Hat, Systems Application Development, VMware and all Microsoft Products monitor and maintain our complete datacentre operation around the clock 365 days a year via our purpose built systems and network operation center.
